Discover the amazing Xinyi district of Taipei in 4 steps
The most touristy and famous district is the Xinyi district, located relatively central in Taipei with tall and big skyscrapers. This is the district that is most famous for the most iconic landmark of Taipei, the Taipei 101. Here in the Xinyi district are many commercial things located like high-end eaterys, fancy clubs and shopping malls. You can also find the Taipei city government, the Taipei city council and some educational institutions like Taipei medical university.

Transportation in the Xinyi district
For transportation in the Xinyi district there used to be only a blue line but now you can make use of the blue and red MRT line. The MRT system is probably the easiest, cheapest and most convenient way to get around in Taipei city. There are also local busses and taxi depending on your needs.
Historical sights and tourism
The Taipei 101 formerly known as the Taipei world financial center is probably the most famous tourist attraction in Taipei city. Also as being the biggest landmark of the city, it sure is an impressive sight! This supertall skyscraper used to be the tallest skyscraper in the world rising up to 508 meters high. It might not be the tallest one anymore but it still is a must visit while in Taiwan.
The Dr Sun Yat-Sen memorial hall is also located in the Xinyi district. This is a memorial hall for China’s national father Dr Sun Yat-Sen. These big beautiful buildings surrounded by gardens. One of the buildings contain 4 exhibition rooms where you can find different and varying exhibitions from different artists. The gardens are also used as recreational areas and in one of the buildings you can find a big collection of books that you can make us of.
The Songshan cultural and creative park has been created with the goal in mind to make it the ‘Creative hub of Taipei’. With this park they’re trying to make the creative community of Taipei grow and give them a place where they are able to express their creativity. In this park you will be able to find many different creative exhibitions and sights to see from mostly people from Taiwan. Located next to the Sun Yat-Sen memorial hall, this is a place worth the visit when you’re around this area.
Where to eat in the Xinyi district
As usual this district also contains a night market, Raohe street night market. This night market is not one of the biggest ones in Taipei but still has a lot to offer and has a very nice atmosphere. Come here to enjoy and try all the local Taiwanese specialties and amazing street food, good food guaranteed!

Nightlife in the Xinyi district
For nightlife is the Xinyi district the perfect place, the area around Taipei 101 has probably the most amount of clubs in all of Taipei! Some of the clubs are wave club, lava and room 18. In some of those clubs you will pay a bit more entry but they have an open bar and you can drink as much as you like. For the people who don’t really like clubbing, there are many nice bars to be found around Taipei 101.
